Mission
The Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation is an ideologically, politically and religiously independent cooperation and service organization. Its basic purpose is, in cooperation with its member organizations, to support, inspire and provide for Kurdish women living in the EU, to promote women's education and employment. The association promotes Kurdish women's self-confidence and influence opportunities for families. The association promotes the equality of women and men both in families and societies, promotes mutual understanding among the Kurds.
Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation's important endeavor is to establish own domicile and develop access to services in one's own language. To support the Kurdish people's peaceful self-determination efforts in Kurdistan:
The association aims to raise issues related to the human rights situation in Kurdistan and the general Kurdish related issues to public discussion in the European Union, and to create connections and strengthen cooperation between the EU and Kurdistan.
The Kurdistan Diaspora Women's Federation plays an essential role in connecting the Kurdish diaspora in Europe with the broader political and social landscape. The federation is committed to improving the lives of Kurdish women in the EU region, advocating for their rights, promoting gender equality, and addressing broader issues related to the Kurdish community in the EU and Kurdistan.
KDWF mission includes, but is not limited to:
1-Supporting Kurdish Women: The federation works alongside its member organizations to provide support and inspiration to Kurdish women residing in the EU. This support may include a wide range of services, guidance, and resources to help improve their lives and opportunities.
2-Promoting Women's Education and Employment: The federation actively promotes education and employment opportunities for Kurdish women, recognizing that education and economic independence are crucial for empowering women and advancing their status in society.
3-Enhancing Self-Confidence: The organization seeks to boost the self-confidence of Kurdish women, helping them gain more influence within their families and communities.
4-Promoting Gender Equality: The federation advocates for gender equality, not only within Kurdish families but also in broader society. It works to break down traditional gender roles and promote the equal treatment and rights of women and men.
5-Serving as a window to Kurdish Culture: Through various cultural and arts events, KDWF will strive to promote Kurdish culture, music, film, fashion, arts and crafts through exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances, and film festivals across the EU.
6-Promoting Understanding Among Kurds: The organization strives to encourage mutual understanding and cooperation among community members, fostering unity and solidarity.
7-Language and Cultural Preservation: An important goal for the federation is to establish a domicile and provide services in the Kurdish language, thereby preserving and promoting Kurdish culture and heritage among diaspora Kurds.
8-Human Rights Advocacy: The federation takes up the cause of human rights in Kurdistan, addressing the situation in the region and advocating for the rights and welfare of the Kurdish people.
9-Advocating Peaceful Self-Determination: The federation supports peaceful efforts by the Kurdish people to determine their destiny in the region, which can include advocating for political, social, and cultural rights.
10-Promoting Public Awareness in the EU: The organization aims to raise awareness about human rights issues in Kurdistan and broader Kurdish-related topics in the European Union. This involves bringing these matters to public discussions and policy debates within the EU.
11-Empowering EU-Kurdistan Connections: The federation seeks to establish and strengthen connections and cooperation between the European Union and Kurdistan. This includes promoting dialogue and collaboration on various fronts, from political issues to commerce to cultural exchange.
